Grilled Corn on the Cob

As you can see Rye and I BBQ pretty much everything in the summer. He has become a master of the grill and can be seen out in the garage pretty much every night. This is another simple summer side dish that takes no time at all and tastes so delicious. Unlike recipes that cook the corn from raw on the grill this saves time and propane and still results in that great grilled taste. If you have access to a local market try buying there insetad of the grocery store. The corn always seems fresher and sweeter and it's so cheap!

  • corn on the cob
  • oil (non stick spray is handy here)
  • butter
  • salt

Peel back the husks of the corn and boil for 10 - 15 minutes. This time really depends on how in season the corn is. I love peaches and cream corn at the start of summer and it does not need a long time at all. You can tell when it is down by sticking your fork in the kernels to see when they are tender.

Lightly oil or spray the cobs and place directly on the grill. They only take about 3-5 minutes so usually I remove whatever meat I am cooking and then add the corn to cook while the meat is resting. Continue turning until the cobs have a light grill marking on all sides.

Serve with beautiful pads of melting butter and heaps of salt and fresh cracked pepper.
