Banoffee Pie

This pie is so famous and popular in Britain but no one has heard of it here. I learned about it from some British coworkers and now I share the recipe with you! It's dead easy and will please everyone except your dentist. It's swwwwweeeeet!

  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1-3 bananas (I use 1 because I'm not the biggest banana fan)
  • 250 ml whipping cream
  • 1 premade graham cracker crust (or make your own with 1/4 cup melted margarine and 16 crushed graham crackers)

Remove paper wrapper from condensed milk tin. Place unopened tin in a sauce pan and cover with water. Bring to a boil and cover with a lid (to prevent evaporation). Allow to boil for 2 hours. Check every 30 minutes (careful!) and cover with more boiling water if too much has evaporated off. After milk has boiled for 2 hours remove from heat until cool enough to handle. Open the tin very carefully. The condensed milk will have turned to a dark toffee caramel. Scoop or pour out onto pie crust and spread evenly.

Thinly slice bananas and arrange over toffee layer using as much banana as you like. Top entire pie with whipped cream.

Devour!
