Hummous

A delicious greek treat. Definitely do not eat this before a date! It must be consumed by everyone in the room so you are all blissfully unaware of how much you stink of garlic.

  • 5 cloves fresh garlic
  • 1 20 oz can of chick peas
  • 1/4 cup of tahini (if you can't find tahini then peanut butter will do the trick)
  • 3 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp salt

I put the garlic through a garlic press first so no one gets a huge chunk. Drain the chick peas and rinse them well. Assemble the garlic, chick peas, tahini, lemon juice, oil, water, cumin and salt in a food processor. Pulse until a thick paste is formed. If it is too thick adjust with more water.

Serve with toasted flatbread or pita pieces.
