I am a 4th generation prairie girl from Winnipeg, Manitoba. My love of cooking began when me and my sister (of Ginnycakes) first started to learn traditional Ukrainian foods from our Great Nana and Nana. We started hosting perogy rolling parties at Easter and a Pyrizhky party on Grey Cup weekend. Soon we fell in love with teaching, learning and cooking with others.

In 2002 I accepted a job at an international boarding school. It was here that I learned about the cultures of my students, primarily Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Taiwanese and Mexican. Their influence on my cooking style and love for mixing cultures was immense. I also began to build my baking skills as my sister branched out into wedding cakes.

In 2006 I moved five provinces east to the island of Newfoundland. I eagerly learned about North Atlantic cuisine and traditional "newfie" foods. It was during this fantastic year that I put the greatest effort into this website with the help of my boyfriend Ryan.

Currently I am back in Winnipeg and back at the international boarding school. I still feel like I am re-adjusting to city life. I continue to cook and bake for friends and to roll perogies.

I sincerely hope you enjoy this website and that you have success with the recipes - XOXO Reba
